Hello Sara,
ReplyDeleteYou provided a very well dialog and I agree about the family-like network of authors.

Thank you for addressing the fiction writers' special needs. Although I am a published non-fiction author, I write narrative non-fiction, so many of your suggestions fit my situation as well. Greetings from South Africa!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on publishing "Day After Disaster"! I like your tip about Goodreads. I might just do that when I get to this point.
ReplyDeleteYou gave a wonderful summary of what we just finished learning in the challenge. Thanks for helping cement our experience in your readers' minds and good luck with your writing career.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteSara, I love your idea about how broadening our research on some themes from a fiction book can generate new products and even coaching programs. That's definitely a niche to explore. Thank you and best of luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for your book!
I just learned from you that goodreads gives the names of the participants in a giveaway to the author.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Congratulations on surviving and thriving, Sara!
ReplyDeleteMuch success and more books to come I'm sure.
Thanks for reading,
Sarah Butland
Hi Sara, I agree- the 30 day challenge has been wonderful! Keep up the good work with your writing pursuits!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your book.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a great and very professional post. Best of luck with Day After Disaster!
ReplyDeleteVery nice summary of the challenge.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover of your book!
Great post! Thanks for reviewing all the good advice from the challenge, and focusing on the fiction writer's opportunities. Congrats on the release of Day After Disaster!

Nice recap of the program. I'm glad to see another fiction writer stick through to the end. I like your tip about Goodreads giveaways. I never thought of choosing my own winners too. I'll have to try that. Good luck with your book. It sounds fascinating.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips, and congratulations on your first book!
ReplyDeleteSara, what inspires me most about your approach is that you look at the materials available to you, and "translate" them into an approach that you can use for marketing your novels!
ReplyDeleteYou may want to consider teaching Fiction authors how to market their books online. I bet we'd have a "line around the block" ready to take your course.
Congratulations and best of luck with your new book. I hear you've been getting some incredible reviews and comments from your fans. That would be fun for readers to view, are they posted here on your blog somewhere?
D'vorah,
DeleteGreat idea about posting my reviews as blog posts. I will have to do that. I already have some posted on my website but not my blog. I will be looking into developing a coaching program for fictional authors. I find that concept very intriguing.
Good luck with your book, Sara.
ReplyDeleteNice recap, Sara. Congratulations on the release of your book, Day After Disaster.
ReplyDeleteSara, Thanks for sharing the fiction tips. I write non-fiction but I have wanted to try my hand at fiction as a way to share the message. Your blog made the jump a little less scary.
ReplyDeleteHi Sara, I appreciate your love of nature. Congratulations on your book. Also, thanks for the info on Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteAlas! Someone else who is using blogger! Could you tell me how you got it to show comment boxes like this? On mine, I just have (8 comments) that you have to click on to get a box. I, too, got a degree in Business (Information Systems) Management, with the intent to manage others who would do the tedious repetitive things that I could no longer do because of carpal tunnel type pain all the way up my arms & neck leftover from a neck injury followed by a car accident in which I got a severe whiplash. Thus, I went on disability back in 1998. I've been transformed by the modern day availability to self-publish books for practically nothing via print-on-demand and now the Book Marketing Challenge opportunity--which has given me a whole new life purpose to pursue. On another note, I lived out in California from 1983-2006. First Huntington Beach, then Delano followed by Bakersfield before moving to Texas. One of my sisters was very involved in outdoor survival activities, including high cliff rock climbing, sky-diving, & mountain rescue. She met and married a State Park Ranger up in Edmonds, Washington when she was 36 & gave birth to 2 daughters at 'home' with midwives. They all live in a 1-bdrm cabin in the park there in Edmonds between the forest and Puget Sound. When she got pregnant (at the age of 36), she decided not to do any more 'survival' stuff that would risk her life. The girls are now 12 & 14. I thought you might like this little story because of your interest in survival... and I am happy to meet you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. You need to add to this blog a 'gadget' where people input their email address. (You can see how I did mine). I originally had mine on the bottom of my blog, but in the BMC, it was recommended to have it on top. Was I one of the 1st 15 to win a free copy of your workbook? I forgot I had submitted it & bought one. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to know how you created the 'facebook' type page that appears when you click on "view my complete profile". I created a google page but couldn't see how to do what you did with the photo in the heading & the facebook type posts.
ReplyDeleteHi Renee,
DeleteThanks for the great tip on my blog. I am checking into how to collect the email addresses. I am not sure how I got the profile to be so descriptive. I think it is because it links to my google+ account. I love your life story and that of your sister. Maybe she should look into some activities that still get her outdoors in a not so risky way. Kids definitively change your perspective on adrenaline seeking. Lol! Keep in touch.
Sara, you've done an excellent overview of the 30 Day Challenge! And reminded me that I need to check on Goodreads about a few things. Best wishes on your writing career!
ReplyDeleteHello Sara, thank you for your awesome post on what we took on over the last month. It makes me tired to think about it. No, really, I love this stuff and I intend to enjoy the journey. All the best to you. Linda Chappo

Congrats,Sara and thanks for the tips on Goodreads. I've only glossed the surface there. I will definitely go back and update my reads and look around more. Good to meet you and much success !

ReplyDeleteGreat summary! Wishing you all the best with your writing and marketing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the 30-Day Book Challenge overview Sara. I had forgotten a few things during our 30-Day journey. Dvorah has an excellent program and, like you, I discovered some priceless gems while moving through the book challenge system. Good luck!

Hi Sara! This is a great overview of the 30-Day Challenge. I'm now going back to complete steps I have missed. First time around, I was unable to figure out how to leave a comment here. Congratulations on your Book launch. I'm sure it will open up new opportunities for you. Thanks for the tips on Goodreads. My visit there will be one of my first Action Steps.
